Heat the Lab up ...

Hello - Hello to all of you summer boys and girls.....

I think its time we took the Gaplab out of the fridge ,,, and get it all up and running again!

After a long break of silence and introspection, and now that the Handbook is out (http://ciceb.org/youth/), we should take this opportunity and get on with what we started!

I would like to suggest that we all read and comment on the Handbook and its content! Do we like it? Is it going to reach its goal - is it appealing to young people? Did the authors take our comments into consideration? After all, the goal of the seminar was to find the ways to make the communication between the institutions and the young people better, cooler and more direct and true! Is any of that spirit reflected in the Handbook?

Food for thought... Re-Join the Gaplab

I am seeing Angel in Sofia in July, where I' gonna write some articles from new EU member country, Bulgaria - so in a way gapLab still lives it's own hidden life...
Besides that I am writing a book about the EU for youngsters, so the subject is still of current interest.
As goes for the website I personally find it hard to mobilize the motivation to create long, theoretical statements about the EU and the gap and the future - BUT: I hope that the Blog will work as a meeting point so we keep using each other and the very useful network we have after all. To be updated about what's going on in Europe, what are people doing, etc. Bridging the gap in real life, if you want.
Best to all of you!

Hei!How are you folks ? This weblog is not very usefull if we only write here when we need something. It is true that we do have our full, maybe too busy lives...It would have been interesting to do something with this blog, I don't know, maybe a network where to post news from our countries, about youth and education issues. If you find this interesting maybe we should talk about it.I know that holidays are coming, but ...
For Marie - are you going to Sofia afterall ?
And talking again about Eurovision, how about the winners ?

Have a nice week,
Eugenia

Hard rock hallelujah! Nice to hear from you all again.

This whole friggen´ country has gone mad. Totally! The fact that "we" (yes, all we Finnish people!) won is unbelievable! We were so bloody goodlooking.

After the final results people ran naked on the streets and too much vodka has been spilled and drinked. All the bars were full. Hard to handle, really.

But yeah well, Europe DID follow us. Grrreat!

And I agree with you Eugenia. Should we start posting some interesting topics and views from the national level where youth, culture and EU mix? That would be interesting. By the way I voted for Romania´s song at the Eurovision Song contest. Hell of a race, wasn´t it?

Yours truly,
Maria

Hi Eugenia
Yes, unfortunentely I ended up with only a week for my trip, so I decided to go to Bulgaria and prospone Romania for later - this big country will need some more time to be fair. Hope to see you then!
By the way - I have applied for a travel grant for journalists at
www.eurocult.org, see "grants" - it's called "A closer look" and supports journalists trips to neighbouring countries to the EU. I got 530 euros to cover my trip, so it's really worth trying.
I just had a beer with Angel in Brussels Wednesday, it was great and made me realize that we should really use this site as an informal forum for all kinds of loose talks of the town from our countries and keep in touch.
